Hi, I'm Mohamed.
I make machine learning feel human.
Data scientist at Georgetown, mechanical engineer before that. I care about what the model does for the person using it.
Things I've made
Spatia — iPhone to 3D
Walk through a room with your iPhone; get back a photorealistic 3D model and an accurate floor plan. No special hardware — just the phone in your pocket.
Our Fallen Hero: The Pigeon
A scrollytelling data story about how America turned its decorated war heroes into "rats with wings."
Lunar Lander, but make it RL
Teaching an agent to land on the moon without embarrassing itself. Deep reinforcement learning on OpenAI Gym.
Engineer first, data scientist by choice.
I started in mechanical engineering, got pulled in by the models, and never really left. These days I'm doing my M.S. in Data Science & Analytics at Georgetown — AI concentration, class of '27 — mostly chewing on one question: how do we build this stuff so it's actually good for the humans on the other end?
The mech-e background still shapes how I work: build it, test it, make sure it holds up in the real world.
Team Pigeon — see the work above.
Come say hi.
New projects, collaborations, or just a good conversation about tech and its impact.
